Coop Kong

As I tried to do some cleaning today, I discovered a jar of peanut butter that was nearly empty, and I wanted to recycle the container. I grabbed a rubber spatula to scrape out the inside, and as I started scraping, Cooper began to dance next to me in excitement.

This dog is too smart for his own good sometimes.

Luckily for the Coopman, when I went to visit my older sister a couple weeks ago, I had bought homemade dog treats from a craft fair, and I took these treats and the peanut butter and crammed his little Kong full of goodies. Being Cooper, he managed to get everything out of the Kong in half the time it would take another dog, but it was a very happy half hour for him.

“Wanna go on a trip?”

All I had to say to Cooper this past holiday weekend was, “Cooper! Want to go on a trip?”

This was his instant response:

The great thing about the Coop Man is how easygoing he is about things like multi-hour car trips. He’s a little like the Crock Pot logo: “Set it and forget it.” All I have to do it put his crate on the floor, watch him promptly race into it, and then put the crate into the car, where he’ll lie down on his side with a “huff” and doze for most of the trip.

Cooper is hilarious with his car blanket. He has me wrap him up like a little Russian nested doll (like these) until he’s toasty warm, and then he likes to slide the blanket off his head and sit with it around his shoulders like a prize fighter.

This is from our trip to Albany over the holidays. Not pictured here is the barf from when Cooper puked in the car…….EW.

When it starts getting cold out, I take pity on Cooper and let him grow a bushy little winter coat. When you’re 10lbs, you need all the help you can get.

The one problem with his longer fur is how BAD Cooper starts to smell in a remarkably short amount of time. We’re talking mere hours here….

So, that means one thing – bathtime!!! And courtesy of the poodle in his bloodline, Cooper turns into a little curly-haired creampuff, and you get to laugh at it.

Cooper is ready and waiting for Santa to hurry up and get the heck here. The second the Christmas tree was assembled, he went ahead and left a little present underneath it for the big guy. Hint: the present came from his butt. Second hint: he pooped under the tree like a naughty boy.

The thing with Cooper and photo shoots….

….is that he’s REALLY into what’s going on. Particularly when the chef (Brad) being photographed will slip him salmon and spaghetti between food shots.

Cooper, being his usual helpful self, decided to help out during a headshot today.

As you can see, “helping” involved playing with his Paradigm Plumbing & Heating frisbee so intensely he ended up caught in it.
