I’ve been doing my homework, trying to see what’s in NH that’s not in NY in terms of crap in the air that’s making me sick, and came up with a list, which is below.
Things I may be allergic to, according to Pollen.com:
- Black willow trees
- Westen poison ivy tree or bushes
- River birch trees
- Sweetgale bushes
- Crested dog’s-tail grass
- Garden buckwheat grass
- Slender-three-seed-mercury grass
Ironically, the area I moved from in New York has about twice as many allergins listed as this area, yet I never got as much as a sniffle in my 24ish years living there.
My methodology was to compare the lists side-by-side to see what was in New Hampshire but not New York. I’ve never heard of half this stuff, ad the list is fairly short, but they must be nasty little buggers if I’m still as sick as I’ve been.
When Ian and I are paperwork married in January, I’m using my shiny new health insurance to get allergy shots or something. I can’t afford to get hit this hard every year. I’m a small business owner and therefore very important. Ha.

Not sure with your special diet…. but if you like honey, I would recommend getting some as locally as you can possibly get. The idea being the bees use the local vegetation to create the honey and it will help build up your immune system to the pollen. It seems to be working well for me, I just use it in my tea : )
