One of the neat things about Twitter (I’m @RockstarCarlene) is if you’re fairly consistent about what you’re post about, you will eventually be found by people who share your interests. Some of these people will be authorities in their own fields, and use Twitter as a way to share their knowledge.
I was recently followed by Gretchen Rubin, a former lawyer-turned-author who blogs about her “Happiness Project,” where she tries to become a better person by looking at herself and her life honestly to see where the room for improvement may be.
Obviously I like this woman.
Today’s entry was an older post about things we may do that are super annoying to other people. I gave the bullet points, click on the text below if you’d like to read the article in full.
1. As I say to my three-year-old just about every day, “Don’t use a whiny voice.”
2. Watch your cell phone use.
3. Don’t curse.
4. Clean up after yourself.
5. Think about whether you’re being interesting.
6. Watch the eye-stray.
7. Most importantly: remember that different things annoy different people.
I think it’s great to get a daily kick in the ass to remember just how important it is to act like a decent human being. It’s awfully easy to fall off that wagon.
